Thomas G. Ritchey, 89, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born at home in Blue Knob, son of the late Frank and Jennie (Over) Ritchey.

He married Helen M. Simendinger on March 10, 1956, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coupon. She preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2002.

Surviving are two daughters: Nina M. Ritchey and her husband, Randy Schmerbeck of Roaring Spring and Shelly A. Ritchey of Duncansville; a son, Randy T. and his wife, Sharon of Blue Knob; two grandchildren: Rebecca E. and Matthew T. and his wife, Angela, all in California; two great-grandchildren: Mila and Owen in California; a brother, Theodore W. of Blue Knob; and a sister-in-law, Billie Ritchey of Blue Knob.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Claar; and four brothers: Hamilton, Jack, F. Dahl, and Harold.

Thomas graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army, F Company, 169th Infantry Regiment. He began working at Railway Express Agency and later retired from Conrail.

After retiring, Tom and Helen enjoyed traveling to the beach and leaf peeping on the East Coast.

Thomas was a member of Blair County Classic Car Club. He enjoyed restoring cars and trucks, gardening, ice cream, spending summers at Raystown, and his time at Blue Knob Auto Sales in his chair.

At the request of the deceased, all services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.

Interment at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
